Coal India Ltd visit to Simtars
Simtars hosted a delegation from Coal India on 20 February 2023, during their week-long study tour of Australia visiting training and research organisations, manufacturers, and an operating coal mine.
The site tour included demonstrations of technical equipment and testing undertaken to improve mine safety, with a particular focus on spontaneous combustion testing and detection. A presentation was also made on the dangers of respirable dust, covering current monitoring techniques used in Australia.
Simtars has had a longstanding relationship with Coal India, providing technical training and gas monitoring equipment to assist in improving coal mine safety. The tour visit concluded with discussions to identify further areas of future collaboration.
